Masaru Emoto's rice experiment demonstrated the power of positive thinking and that human thoughts and intentions can alter physical reality. Two portions of cooked rice were put into containers, one labelled "thank you" and on the other "you fool". Emoto instructed school children to read the labels out loud everyday when they passed. A month later, the rice labelled "thank you" was still edible, while the other was moldy and rotten.
