Sam Hill and Ben Barker, graduates from my course at Goldsmiths, lead our Design Workshop yesterday and introduced us to a way of using experience as a new value system alongside moral and pleasure in order to help make life more enriched, more varied and more rewarding. The idea came from Sam's third year project in 2008 based on risks and exposures. He aimed to change the way he lived by removing the barriers that limited the way in which he experienced life. When we take safety out of the question, risk is added and therefore a more intense experience with heightened senses, enriching quality of life.
